This is a Tensegrity Coffee Table, Model 714, initially designed by Theodore Waddell for Cassina in 1973. This example dates to the 1980s. Its design centers around a chromed-steel sculptural base, a feat of engineering that would prove to be Theodore Waddell’s magnum opus; He wanted to create a piece of furniture that was able to stand up via tension cables. It has a thick round glass top to accompany the base.

The table measures 40 inches in diameter, and it stands 19.75 inches high. The base has some fine scratches and scuffs when looking closely, and the glass top is pristine. Overall, this table is in very good condition. Please see photos.
